I’m sure everyone knows about the Great Depression when food and gas was rationed and men sold apples on street corners to try to earn some money to feed their starving children. It seems to me that we are in another Great Depression right now, except it isn’t one of finances, it is a decay in the brain. We have so much, materially at least, yet we are so unhappy. Somewhere along the line we lost our souls. We are spiritually bankrupt. Of course we don’t like to talk about things like emotional depravity or mental illness. We pretend they don’t really exist.
