More Fascism

Scott Peterson was just convicted of murder on circumstantial evidence. Circumstantial means storytelling. It’s like telling a story and saying…can you imagine that these events could take place?
No one should ever be convicted of murder without real evidence. Otherwise anyone can make up anything about anyone and convict him or her.
Remember that when someone is arrested for a crime you are only getting the police’s assumption. And the police need to get a man, any man or woman, to appease the families and populace that want a conviction. Otherwise we would feel the police are inept (sometimes they are) and that people get away with crimes (they do). Still you cannot err on the side of maybe this person did it.
Think about all of the prisoners that have been let out of prisons because DNA proved they were innocent.
You cannot give the police and the courts so much power. It will be abused.
Also people behind me right now are saying that the testimony by his mistress sunk him because he lied to her….about being in Paris when he wasn’t, etc. If a person can be convicted of a crime because of lying to their mistress a lot of men are dead meat.
What about dismissing jurors? Doesn’t sound good.
Did Peterson kill his wife? I don’t know. It was a horrible crime, the deaths of Laci Peterson and their unborn child. But do you want to let your rights erode even farther than they have since 9/11?

Veteran's Day 2004
It is a day of sadness and honor. Sadness that my government has mired us in an illegal war in Iraq. War is filthy, and dirtier still is a government that uses citizens in a war they hide under a disguise so you are disconnected from the ravages and deaths. Fascists do whatever and do not own their directives, and certainly do not want you to know what is really occuring in your name. Who is the terrorist?
And today is a day of honor. A day to honor those brave men and women who put their lives on the line, those in our history who fought to give us our freedom and those who fight right now, today, in a war the President of the United States, George W. Bush, should be ashamed of.
I cried this morning when the letters of some of the soldiers were read. Please stop the war!
I am ashamed and terrified of every single person that voted for Bush. You voted for blood. I hate you.

No NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

My brother says there are committees or think tanks that advise the government and corporations on how far they can push the American citizens before they revolt. If they push too hard or too fast and the people make noise that they crank it down a notch. And if they heard too much noise and their agenda is important to them they just add the fear factor.
We all need to make more noise and especially learn the word BOYCOTT. Say that gas prices rise sharply as they did here a few weeks ago. Then you boycott. Shout out that the price is too high and band together and don't go to work. Capitalists don't hear you unless you hurt their profit margins. Then they come to their senses really fast.
We need voices and unity. That is a way to stop unprovoked wars or any of the other
government/corporation nonsense.
Get Loud.

Houston we have a problem…

Last night at a monthly dinner I have with friends the subject of politics came up.
This is a group of 13 people, some Democrats, more Republicans, and two Libertarians. When all of the usual mumbo jumbo was put aside what came out surprised me. Many have decided not to vote anymore. And this came from more Republicans than any of the others.
They believe that Bush and Kerry were merely two heads of the same animal, that elections are rigged: no one believed that Bush could of attained the decisive vote (in shear numbers) that he did because everyone before the election was either strongly on one side or the other in an almost even factor. This proved out in the signage on people’s lawns, the letters to the editor’s columns, and in simply talking to one another. Everyone expected a close race.
The people in this group believed the exit polls were correct.
WE, as citizens of the United States, believe more in the process than we do in the candidates. We are all for fair elections were every vote counts and let the decision fall where it may, let the best person win. When that doesn’t happen, like in the rigmarole of 200, and in the weird Republican victory of a few weeks ago, well the people are starting to lose belief in the system, an erosion is taking place, rot is occurring. There is a great slippage in the morale of this country.
They see the presidency as little more than a bobblehead/figurehead position, one of a puppet or an actor who dishes out the vernacular of his cabinet (the REAL governing body). For this recent election we were given a choice between a strutting cowboy or an East Coast intellectual…Cowboy Bob or “Well, Sherman”… and the Tom Hanks animation won. We like puppets, hence Reagan, the Grand Poobha of All Puppets. And watch out because California is trying to give us the Terminator president. Not that all presidents don’t sell out to special interests in some respect. They do.
Call me naïve, I still will vote in 2008. I’m a believer, even though there is a lot of evidence to the contrary, I want to trust in the community. They choose, not some small-unnamed group of billionaires sitting on golden tuffets in the Trump Tower penthouse.

News:
The exit polls were right. Remember the antics of 2000. Chew on that.

Vincente Fox had reared his head again demanding amnesty for illegals. He even put a one year deadline on his demand. Or What? This is a kind of terrorism that is flying below the radar.

My head hurts. I don't want to hear about the proposed bloodbath that Falluja is capable of becoming. Pray that madmen come to their senses.
