Vivid Blood-red Tulips
My next painting will be “Sisters in Suicide”, a combined back-to-back portrait of Sylvia Plath and Anne Sexton. I’ve read them both. They are quite different although they both were East Coasters. I prefer Sexton. Plath had that cloistered, rather smothery, fragile, Eastern U.S. aura, while Sexton was more an up-to-date, go-eat-the-world suburbanite.
Plath is more agoraphobic Emily Dickinson and Sexton is more Edna St. Vincent Millay, called Vincent by her friends, the poet that planted by the light of the moon.
Georgia O’Keeffe gets a portrait all by herself because she was fiercely independent. Just like most Wisconsin women

This morning I brewed a cup of tea, snuggled on the couch and turned on Oprah to see a large homely husband/wife team talk about swinging. Ten minutes of that and I was so turned off by the idea of ghastly sex with weirdoes that I turned off the teevee.
Instead I pulled a chair up to the window and watched the fog evaporate off the water and I became very sad because I realized that I would never have enough time to read all of the books, paint all of the paintings, write all of the books and plays, make all of the sculptures, and travel to all of the places in the world I want to see in one lifetime. Well maybe I could do the travel. After all there are only so many places on earth. But the creative stuff…well that’s infinite. Even with the books, more are published all of the time and I am not done with the classics yet. And the art manifesting anew from my brain…well that changes and develops in cycles, then morphs and becomes something up-to-the-minute and I just won’t have enough time.
I knew that had to be a catch to this whole lifetime cruise.

Yikes this is frightening! I didn’t expect the response I received. So many of you judged Peterson before he even went to trial.
Scott Peterson is totally creepy. He was a womanizer, a sneak, and a liar while he was married to Laci. Okay so he is a really unlikable person. We all understand that part.
A lot of you are putting together OJ and Peterson. Two vastly different cases. And just because most people (including me) thought OJ was guilty, you can’t convict someone else because you have underlying, repressed anger about OJ. And in that case there was LOADS of forensic evidence.
What I am talking about in this case is the process. A person is innocent until PROVEN guilty. In this case 3 jurors were excused. I will be very interested in what all of the jurors have to say once the gag order is lifted, especially the former foreman.
I don’t take condemnation of any human being lightly. So yes, if I was a juror on any case, I wouldn’t be railroaded into going along with the rest of the jurors in a horrible murder case just to appease the public. And yes, all of you that said I wasn’t on the jury are correct. I don’t know the details. Still I want clear evidence to convict. I would hope that my peers would give me the same if I ever were brought up on charges. I would give that to you.
The sentencing in the Peterson case hasn’t been given yet, but as some of you have probably guessed, I’m against capital punishment. I have no taste for blood. Neither here, nor in Iraq.

What’s the score? Have we killed as many Iraqis has Saddam did?

Lies Lies Lies
A 56-year-old woman gave birth to twins. Since she was “almost” 57, the age was changed. State was is, not what sounds more sensational. That’s bad journalism. State the facts. When news becomes Hollywoodized, and newspeople resort to storytelling (lies) we lose our sense of reality. Let news be reality, stories be fiction.

Plus any responsible journalist wouldn’t use the Peterson’s baby’s name. Sure Laci’s mother can call the baby Connor because she is the mom and you expect an emotional attachment. But journalists should say “unborn child.”
Otherwise should women start to name their miscarriages and have funerals for them?
The unborn Peterson baby’s death was a revolting tragedy; don’t politicize it into a pro-life statement.
